Tricia 3.2018 “An honest, piercing, blunt, lyrical, remarkable writer about the endless chambers of joy and pain in the heart.” Brian Doyle, author of Mink River

Tricia Gates Brown is an everyday theologian working as a writer, garden designer, and pastoral counselor on the north coast of Oregon. After completing an MA in theology then a PhD from the University of St. Andrews in 2000, she continued to pursue her studies—energetically self-educating in theology, spirituality, and the emotional life. She is currently at work on her second novel, and is a Postulant for Ordination in the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon, answering a call into Spiritual Care (chaplaincy). Her essays have appeared in Oregon Humanities and Portland Magazine, and her blog is a part of The Christian Century Blogs Network.
